Local people have been promised step-free access at Flitwick Station for years, yet we are now being told the appropriate funding is not in place.
Since my election in 2024 I have supported hard-working local campaigners by raising the issue with both the Government and Network Rail.
Just last year I was told by Network Rail that construction on the new footbridge and lifts was expected to be completed by spring 2027.
Now, Network Rail have said the initial cost estimate is higher than the available budget so extra funding is needed.
This isn't good enough. The people of Flitwick and surrounding villages who rely on Flitwick station deserve better.
Sign my petition calling on the Government to release funding immediately to ensure the step-free access project can go-ahead as planned.
