Ampthill high street shop No.14 has been crowned the best independent business in Mid Bedfordshire in a public vote run by local MP Blake Stephenson.
The Mid Beds Member of Parliament has been keen to support local businesses and has regularly spoken up about this in Parliament.
To help highlight the businesses in his constituency in the run up to Christmas, Blake launched a competition encouraging people to vote for their favourite independent business.
And after an extremely tight vote, with fewer than 10 votes between the top two, No.14 in Ampthill was announced as the winner on Small Business Saturday.
Blake visited the shop to congratulate them and present them with their winner’s certificate.
Blake Stephenson MP said: “Congratulations to No.14 on such a fantastic win in what was a very close contest!
“It has been fantastic to see so much support for all of our small and independent businesses across Mid Bedfordshire throughout the competition.
“But I know there are some real issues which the Government needs to hear so I will continue standing up for our local businesses in Parliament.”
The two runners-up will be contacted in the coming days.
