Conservative MP Blake Stephenson has criticised Britain’s ‘broken’ immigration system and launched a report with 30 recommendations to Government on how to fix it.
Backdoors to Britain, published by the Mid Bedfordshire Member of Parliament, examines the loopholes in our country’s current legal immigration system – which he says can be exploited at great cost to the British public.
Since Blake’s election in July 2024, he has submitted hundreds of questions to the Home Office to understand the current system and where it is going wrong.
Upon launching his report Backdoors to Britain today, he said: “The British immigration system is broken. That’s the message I’ve heard loud and clear from my constituents since my election in 2024, it’s time we delivered action, rather than slogans.
“While the majority of the talk around the issue often focusses on illegal immigration, my new report Backdoors to Britain looks at the loopholes in legal immigration to this country.
“We all want Britain to be a welcoming nation, benefitting from the best and brightest talent that the world has to offer, but we need the immigration system to work for the great British people.
“So I hope the Government will take this report seriously and fully consider the recommendations – I am always happy to work cross-party in the best interests of Mid Beds and the United Kingdom.
